SSC CHSL Exam Pattern for Tier 1, 2 and 3

SSC CHSL Exam Pattern :

CHSL (Combined Higher Secondary Level) exam is conducted in every year by Staff Selection Commission (SSC). Every year the exam is held in between May or June month. In this year, 2020 the Tier 1 exam of CHSL will be held in May month. The exam is divided into three stages, Tier 1, 2 and 3. Because of this three stages, recruitment process take almost one year. So many candidates wants to know that what is the exam pattern of chsl?. So, today we'll discuss about the exam pattern of SSC CHSL.

SSC CHSL Exam Pattern for Tier 1, 2 and 3, Study Patron

CHSL Tier 1 Exam Pattern :

SSC CHSL Tier 1 exam has total 4 papers and each paper is of 50 marks. Total number of the tier 1 exam is of 200 marks. This is a computer based exam (online mode) and the papers is MCQ type (objective type) in nature. Candidates'll get 1 hour for this exam and for the scribe, the exam'll 80 minutes. There'll be negative marking of 0.50 for every incorrect answer in CHSL tier 1 exam. CHSL Tier 2 Exam Pattern :

SSC CHSL Tier 2 comprises only one paper and the paper is non objective type (descriptive type) in nature. The paper will be in Pen and Paper mode and the paper is of 100 marks and candidates'll get 60 minutes for this paper (20 minutes extra for scribe). There is no negative number for this paper and the paper is a qualifying paper in nature, candidates has to score at least 33% to qualify this paper as well as tier 2 exam. Also the paper have to be written in English or Hindi. 

CHSL Tier 3 Exam Pattern :

SSC CHSL Tier 3 exam is about skill test or you can say it is about typing test. This paper is also a qualifying paper in nature. The skill test will be for Data Entry Operators and the the typing test will be for Postal / Sorting Assistant and LDC / JSA.

Skill Test : 

Skill test'll be mandatory for Data Entry Operators and 'Data entry speed of eight thousand words per 60 minutes on computer'll be adjudged on the basis of correct entry words as per the given passage'. The time duration of this test'll be 15 minutes and 'printed matter in English containing words of 2000 to 2200 would be given to each candidate'.

And for the post of grade - A, the speed of fifteen thousand words per 60 minutes on computer'll be adjudged on the basis of correct entry words as per the given passage'. The time duration of this test'll be 15 minutes and 'printed matter in English containing words of 3700 to 4000 would be given to each candidate'. 

And for the scribe candidates (as per the rules of ssc) will get extra compensatory time of 5 minutes and because of that the test will be of 20 minutes for such candidates. 

Typing Test :

Typing test'll be in two medium, Hindi and English. And candidates has to choose any of this medium for typing test in the online application form. For the candidates of  English medium, the typing speed has to 35 words per minute and for the candidates of Hindi medium, the typing speed has to 30 wprds per minutes. '30 words per minute and 35 words per minute correspond to about 9000 key depressions per 60 minutes and about 10500 key depressions per 60 minutes respectively'.

And for the scribe candidates (as per the para 8.1 and 8.2 of rules of SSC) will get extra compensatory time of 5 minutes and because of that the test will be of 15 minutes for such candidates.
